Surrendering Iguanas

Green Iguanas (Iguana iguana) are sold in a great many pet shops across the nation for very cheap prices (generally $20.00-$30.00 per baby).  As an animal that can grow to be around 6' in length, males can get territorial and aggressive, and require large amounts of room with a carefully planned diet, these animals are sold far too easily and far too cheaply.  Subsequently, many people tend to purchase them under the misguided idea that they are an easy maintenance pet.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Unfortunately, due to the mass number that are offered up every year, nearly ALL rescues are full to capacity for what we are able to provide for Iguanas.  Subsequently, at this time, the Ohio Reptile Service is placing Iguanas on a waiting list.  We are very strict on requirements for adopting animals.  The reason being is we aim to find animals forever homes.  Homes with dedicated, experienced and educated owners are what we aim for.

If you have an Green Iguana that needs a home, please contact us. We will gladly place you on the waiting list and as soon as a home comes available, we can get you and the prospective owner networked.
