Surrendering Venomous Reptiles

The responsibilities surrounding venomous reptiles in a private household are quite evident when one thinks about the possible consequences of suffering an envenomation by one of these impressive animals powered by an evolutionary adaptation designed to quickly dispatch prey for their consumption and survival. 

The Ohio Reptile Service is based out of Columbus Ohio where venomous snakes are forbidden.  However, we are able to assist with their removal and transport to a legal housing area until they can be taken to an appropriate facility where they will receive optimum care, specialized handling, and veterinary care if necessary. 

If you have a venomous animal in need of a new home, we require advanced notice.  We must have an opportunity to arrange immediate transport for this animal to a facility nearly two hours away.  Subsequently, it's not a simple matter of a quick pickup and drop-off.  For additional questions or concerns, please review the Q&A below.
