So, you arrive at a home on an emergency call out.  Upon entering the home, there is a snake loose within the dwelling that creates some concern for you.  You've never seen such an animal before.  The snake isn't overly large, however, it doesn't quite look like the typical pet store boa constrictor or python that you've seen before.  What do you do?  Do you approach the snake and try to secure it?  Do you attempt to kill the snake?

We'd like to provide you a better option.  If you encounter an animal that concerns you as you're unfamiliar with it.  You have no idea if the snake is venomous, or whether this large lizard is docile or aggressive.  You have no idea what you're dealing with and it could result in you receiving injury, or even worse...death.  We realize that our officers and emergency personnel can't be expected to identify every species of animal or even every species of reptile in existence.  That's why we are here!  We are willing to provide 24/7 emergency on-call assistance to our emergency responders.

In order to assist you, we provide our 24/7 contact number at 614-595-4966.  You are welcomed to call us and provide us a description of the animal (approx. length, colors, body style, actions, etc).  We can do our best to provide you with the name of the species and whether or not it might be dangerous in any way.  If, however, you do not feel comfortable with trying to provide a description of the snake as you don't feel you can give an accurate description, we do provide another option.  If you happen to have a cell phone with picture taking ability, you can take a picture with your phone and Media Text it to the number provided above.  With the photo in hand, we can certainly identify the animal and some tips for safe interaction or we can inform you whether it would be best for us to come out and assist you directly.
